The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) is replaced the US Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) system to reflect changes in the economy, primarily due to NAFTA. This reference source is an excellent place to begin any search for statistical information. It not only provides a wealth of data, but also makes reference to additional statistical publications and sources.

County and City Data Book

ASI is an excellent index to statistical information within US federal government publications published from 1970 to the present. It has extensive subject coverage, and is very easy to use.
