Getting Copies of the Maps

We do not have copies of these maps available for sale! They are long out of print, but can sometimes be found at antiquarian book stores or through map dealers. There is also a company called Map Express that will research and obtain copies for a fee.

Any web browser software, most commonly Internet Explorer or Netscape, will allow you to view or download the maps. Printing, however, is a more complicated process. Browsers are not designed or able to allow you to print large graphic files.

Currently, you have several options for printing the maps. The easiest option is to download the map image to your hard drive and use an image processing program to manipulate or print the maps. Some versions of Microsoft Windows come with built-in programs you can use such as Microsoft "Paint" and "Imaging". You can also find shareware image editing programs that you can use.

You can also download the image and take it to a copy shop to have it printed, or have the copy shop download and print the image for you.

We plan to alleviate printing problems in the future by converting our jpeg map images to a MrSID compressed format. This will allow image size to be decreased, zooming and panning, and printing of either the whole, or any part of any image. We will make this conversion as time permits, and notice will be made on the site.
